For land expertise, Pure Earth has partnered with Carnes Natural Gas (CNG), The Woodlands, Texas.  Michael Carnes, President of CNG, has over 30 years experience in land work and has a qualified staff to assist on leasing and acquisition projects.

Thomas R. Moore is an independent geologist with decades of experience working with unconventional and conventional reservoirs.  Previously, he was Chief Geoscientist-Unconventional Resources for EXCO Resources, developing Marcellus Shale gas resources, conducting coring and core analyses programs, and mentoring junior staff members.  Prior to that, he was with CDX Gas as a senior geologist and Appalachia Exploration Manager, using an innovative multi-lateral dual-well system for the development of coalbed methane resources.  From 2003 into 2005, he led the Coal Section at the Illinois State Geological Survey, conducting his own research as well as directing that of others in coal, coalbed methane, abandoned mine mapping and subsidence hazards, and geological sequestration of carbon dioxide.  In 2002 as a private consultant, he conducted inter-regional screening studies of unconventional (tight sandstone, coalbed methane and shale) gas resources throughout North America for a client company.  A large portion of his career was with Phillips Petroleum Company in various capacities ranging from field development geology in the Midcontinent and San Juan Basin to technical specialist in sedimentology, sedimentary petrography and the geology of unconventional reservoirs on projects worldwide.  He holds a Masters Degree in Geology from the University of Missouri and a Bachelors Degree in Geology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Gary Lash, professor of geology at SUNY Fredonia, has concentrated his research on the Devonian shales in the Appalachian Basin for the last several years.  He has published several papers on this research in various industry journals, as well as leading our field trips to shale outcrops.  Gary is an advisor to Pure Earth and is currently assisting on our outcrop studies to gain a better understanding of these reservoirs.

Scott Robinson has over 35 years of diversified engineering experience in all aspects of the oil industry from upstream prospect development, drilling and production operations to downstream gas pipelines, processing and product fractionation.  Assignments have included:  District Chief Engineer at Exxon, President of a UK Publicly Traded Oil Company, Owner of an Independent Consulting Engineering/Exploration Company and VP Engineering of Ginger Oil Company (a Swedish Publicly Traded Oil Company).  Scott has successfully developed and directly participated in over 15,000 acres of horizontally developed oil exploration projects in the US and is currently participating in the Haynesville and Eagle Ford Shale plays.  Scott has a B.S. in Engineering from Michigan State University, is a registered Petroleum Engineer and is a member of SPE, AAPG, SIPES and HGS.
